Finally, my new life will start.

After long and serious consideration, I decided to come back to Taiwan and start my career here.

This decision was against the intuition of most Taiwanese young people because we kind of believe that working in the US means better career. I did have chances to work in California, and I liked the opportunities there, too. However, thanks to the suggestions from several friends, who are now my personal board of directors, I realized how important to chase my dream job and career, instead of choosing a job by only salary or location.

Eventually, I weighed different options and found that I will be able to do what I love in Taiwan with a good company. Now, I'm back to my hometown, and ready for the new challenges.

These two years in Claremont were so great that I really feel I chose a right school, right place, and right program. The friends I met in Drucker School are one of the most valuable parts of the whole experience. Even one month after I came back to Asia, I still think of them and the life in Claremont all the time. I truly hope we can meet once a year or two years in the future.

Well, my new working life will start soon next week.

Chinese New Year Dinner in Santa Monica

This is the 2nd Chinese New Year I had in the US.

Thanks to Nick's family, we enjoyed a traditional and delicious Chinese New Year dinner in Santa Monica!

It's very interesting for me to have such a great dinner in the US for Chinese New Year.

Since this is the last semester for me, this can also be the last Chinese New Year in the US.

Thank's Mama Hsu, we ate A LOT!

Just want to be grateful to all the great friends and people around me.

Even I am not in my hometown, I do feel warm and the atmosphere of the traditions!

leadership and responsibility

I have been believing that leadership and responsibility are inseparable.

Once a person volunteers to take the role of leader, he or she should take the responsibility for that group. There is no way to be a great leader while being irresponsible for the group.

People say the Management School is to develop future leaders. We also say we are here to learn.

I'm hoping we can see more and more great leaders with their responsibility and courage to make the world a better place. This may sound silly and idealistic, but that's one of the evidence showing I am still young enough to hope, right?

Inspiration from Drucker Centennial Week

The Drucker Centennial Week celebration finished with Drucker Centennial Day yesterday. We had Jim Collins, Charles Handy, and many other great guest speakers coming to Claremont and share all kinds of insights with us, especially about "Why we need Drucker now, more than ever"!

I was really excited that we have the chance to meet Jim Collins and can hear from him about Drucker's philosophy. And he didn't disappoint me at all! One sentence that really touched me is this, "The great leaders are extremely ambitious, but not for themselves!"

People tend to think the basic stuffs are not as important and new thoughts or innovations. Although some new ideas are pretty excited, the sincerity, honesty, trust, etc, are still the most important characters for a successful leader. And people usually forget these things because they are simply too basic.

There must be reasons that great leaders/thinkers are always talking about the basic things. However, many people focus only in narrow field and ignore the importance of the big picture. Human beings have unlimited capability, but we like to limit ourselves all the time.

One advice that Jim Collins offered was to "build your own personal board of directors. People selected not for their accomplishment, but for their character. The people you will be embarrassed talking to if you are thinking if this is really a right thing to do."

Every of his suggestion is just so deeply touching my heart, and I almost agree with every of them sincerely.

When Jim Collins talked about the first meeting between him and Peter Drucker. When Drucker left his advice for Jim Collins, Peter was not worried about Jim's survival in academic, nor about Jim's career or financial success, but Peter asked Jim to think about how to be useful. And as Jim Collins recalled, that 10 seconds conversation changed his whole life.

This week truly reminded me how great Peter Drucker is. The week also convinced me once again that I am extremely lucky to be in this fantastic school. Thanks for Jim Collins, I again listened to a speech with tears in my eyes.

As a co-director of Marketing Club in Drucker School, I was proud that I really have some trustworthy partners to work with now. The result can be so easily seen as we presented the club booth. On that booth, we had the collaborative work of many people in marketing club. The booth was beautifully designed and decorated. We had Prof. Darroch's new book presented on the booth. The certificate of being one chapter of American Marketing Association was so shining. I am also grateful that members designed different materials that make our project successful. To present the business card the member designed in the booth, I felt really proud.

This semester, the Drucker Marketing Club is having many activities and events going on. We are having guest speakers coming in next two weeks, too. I am really glad we are having members keep joining our events!

The final part I'd like to share is about the conversation with Masatoshi Ito, the founder and honorary chairman of the Ito-Yokado Group. His friendship and working relationship with Peter Drucker spanned more than three decades. Ito San is an amazingly humble person and a great leader in Japan. I am so honored to be in the school named Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito School!

Ito San was really kind and took time to meet Drucker School students. Because this event was decided at the last minute, we were worried that we could not broadcast the information fast enough to draw people to this event. However, we soon found that the worry was so stupid. Ito San is such a great leader that his appearance drew attention by nature. We ended up with a room full of people, and crowd even outside of the room.

Ito San talked about his relationship with Peter Drucker and how he learned from Peter. In fact, Peter insisted to have Ito's name on the school because he believed Ito San is a practical side of himself! Seeing the true friendship with two great men, I was deeply touched and felt so proud to be associated with them.

Non-surprisingly, the values that Ito San deeply embeds in every aspect of his thought totally match what Peter and all other great thinkers believe. They all value social responsibility, honesty, and dignity. They all dislike the "money centric" and "profit-only" ideas. Just like Jim Collins said, "The great leaders are extremely ambitious, but not for themselves." Ito San is a great example and role model for us, which I truly appreciate!

In this photo, the person in the center who had the great smile on his face is one of our professors. He is teaching self-management in our school, a field that is very important for knowledge workers, but are not addressed by most "B-schools" at all.

I have been studying in Drucker School for more than 1 year. Of course, this school is not perfect, and it's small with limited resources.

However, where can you find a school that all the professors are really passionate about teaching and students' success? Where can you find a school that everyone is so friendly and so tightly working together, even as volunteers? In what kind of business speaking sessions, you can find your eyes wet all the time while listening to different great speakers talking about their dream and Peter's dream.

The Drucker School is great. I am extremely lucky to be here and to share all the great thoughts with many many great people.

Crazy (Fun) Week

The midterm week finally finished. Since I had only two classes in 1st module and only one of them had midterm exam, this week became crazily fun week for me!

During this week, I played golf 4 times, One time in regular course, three times in short course!

Also, I played poker at the night before midterm exam, and although I was so lucky that I won the most at that night!

After the midterm, we went to golf (I almost got a hole-in-one), 燒肉, and then Karaoke. "Tamaen" in Torrance was so dili. Singing with friends is still one of my favorite activities!

Other than these, finally, my car has run more than 30,000 miles, and I went to car service, Ontario Mills (while waiting for my car,) and Costa Mesa (Book-off & Mitsuwa).

Finally, I bought the driver that I have been wanted to buy, and a pair of golf shoes. Although I have no idea how much time I need to practice before I can use the driver well, I am motivated by the purchase and eager to play golf more!

We also went to go-cart racing. This is really fun and tiring! I still can't move my arm even two days after playing this. However, I do find I am not a competitive person in this game. Although I was the 1st place in the 2nd tier group, because I bumped other people during the race, I felt a bit guilty at the end...

Well, it's still a great experience though. I enjoyed racing with so many friends. I am glad I went there!

I renewed my Disneyland annual pass in this week, too.

It's a pity that we didn't go with Disneyland expert this time, but we found we learned something from her. Even though it's Friday night and the park is extremely crowded. We took several rides and had a nice dinner in the park without waiting too much. I was still scared while taking Splash Mountain, and still feeling good while taking Pirates of Caribbean.

Today, thanks for the invitation from A & H, we went to Little Tokyo restaurant together. Luckily and surprisingly, we met K's family there. Of course, with this group of people, the meal would be amazingly good. We had not only nigiri sushi but also a lobster sashimi+nabe. This meal is so good that I almost couldn't stop eating even I was so full...

With this happy ending, I finished the happy week. And from tomorrow, the 2nd module will start, and I will be crazily busy again with tons of homework to do. However, I am glad to have so colorful life here. Claremont is the best! Drucker School is the best! My friends are the best!

Apple's new lineup for the holiday season 09

Apple just announced their quarterly report yesterday with profits surge 46% and record breaking Mac & iPhone sales.

Today, Apple released the new products for the holiday season 2009.

I have always been amazed by the way Apple introduces their product in a short video.

This iMac is a refinement of previous product.

On contrast to other computer companies, Apple is not trying to put a touch screen on the iMac, but build a multi-touch mice instead.

The reason is simple: "To add meaningless feature is never a good thing."

Differentiation is not just being different. Whether consumers perceived the value is the key of product success.

NSHMBA 2009

This is the 2nd time I attended NSHMBA career fair.

The event is one of the biggest for MBA in the US, and I have always learned a lot by just struggling in the career fair and talking with people.

Finding a job under this economy is really difficult even for Americans, not to mention for the international students.

As international students, it's just the reality we are facing.

In fact, I do think going back to Taiwan is also a good option. However, I also want to learn more in the US, since I really feel the diverse cultures here in California inspire me a lot.

Last year, the NSHMBA conference was in Atlanta and I went there with many classmates. Senior students taught me how to network with people, and we even debate whether trying to make friends with strangers is a necessary thing to do. The experience really shocked me because I had't understood how difficult for me to find a job in the US.

This year, Drucker School had much fewer students going with us even school is aggressively trying to send us there by sponsoring hotel fee. Several of us still went, and I felt it's totally worth it. The event is actually a bit smaller than last year. Companies are offering more internship but maybe not as many full time jobs. I practiced talking with recruiters again, and I realized I improved. My improvement really makes me happy, although it may be very little.

Also, this year, my brother joined me in job hunting in the US.

It's great to share with him and try to help.

The NSHMBA event itself may not be too much fun, but going there with friends, learning from practicing, talking with all kinds of different people, and confirming my own understanding of myself all are really useful for me.

I am glad I joined again this year. And I really enjoyed this trip with friends and my brother.

Parents' visit

The 1st week of semester, my parents came to visit me after their trip in Boston with my brother. Although they stayed 5 nights, I feel we couldn't have enough time to talk.

We played two golf games. The weather was a bit weird because of the huge fire in the West. However, we did enjoy and I have never felt so nice while playing golf with them. Even I still played terribly, we enjoyed playing together. That's the most important thing, right?

I took them to Solvang, a small Danish style town near Santa Barbara. Although my dad does not drink alcohol at all, while we tried a bit wine tasting, he smelled the wines. I appreciated that. Also, I missed the days we traveled together with my brother.

Of course, we ate some good food. In Solvang, the dinner in hotel was so delicious that we were a bit surprised. Also, we went to Ojiya, Shin-sen-gumi, Mitsuwa for all kinds of Japanese food. I am really glad to see them enjoyed here.

I am so lucky to have them visit me, and I am looking forward to meeting my brother in Oct. when we attend some career fairs together.

Well, I do love my family. I do.

OXford Program: Global Strategy & Trade

I Just finished the trip in Oxford, UK. This is a nice trip with all kinds of different experiences.

Although it's an interesting and fun trip, I did go there for a class: Global Strategy & Trade.

Many Drucker School senior students recommended this class to me, and after taking it by myself, I would like to recommend this class to everyone in Drucker School & CGU, too.

This class does not only open to MBA students in Drucker School, but also accept PHD students in CGU and, of course, EMBA students. This structure of students makes the program more diverse, and I appreciate it.

There are two professors and many guest speakers giving lectures during the two weeks in Oxford. We had either lecture from professor in the morning and guest speaker in the afternoon, or vice versa. The assignments were heavy but helpful, we needed to finish all the readings and writings before we arrived Oxford so that we can enjoy the time being there.

All the social events and tours arranged in Oxford were interesting. Although I could not understand the Shakespeare play, I did enjoy watching it. We visited Wembley Stadium and Mini car plant, and both were pretty informative and fun.

The best part is the interaction with classmates and professors. Every student stayed in the same dorm and we were all having the same schedule for classes, events, and meals. Thus, we could know everyone at the end and had closer relationship. I did enjoy knowing different people, especially when everyone is interested in Globalization.

Anyway, this is a really nice program that opened my eyes. The classes and speeches were from all different kinds of perspectives, and having class in Oxford is a totally different feeling from having class in Claremont. I strongly recommend everyone take this class if possible because I found it really valuable!

My second 4th of July in the US

Last 4th of July, thanks to I-Place in Claremont College, I attended the parade and watched the fireworks in Claremont. That was an amazing experience that I could see the real Independence day traditions in the States.

This year, thanks to Nick, several friends gathered in Santa Monica and had a wonderful BBQ party in Nick's house. I was really glad that Kazuma and Yoshi both could come and bring their families. Also, it made me happy that Edward and Julie joined us and we walked around the beach and shopping area. The weather was perfect. The food was home made (Nick-made) and really delicious(I love the chicken!) After not seeing all these friends for a while, it's a pleasure to play with everyone and having such a nice day together.

Thank you, Nick, for hosting the great party for us!

Drucker School Golf Competition

Before my internship started, this is my last social event.

It's really fun to play golf with professor, EMBA student, alumni, and school director/dean, especially under the Spring weather of Southern California.

If you ever wonder whether this golf competition is worth to join, it is strongly recommended!

I was teamed up with MBA director, our OB professor, and an EMBA student. They are all very very nice partners(Drucker's culture!) The rule of this game is basically based on the team performance. We played only "the best ball" in each team each shot, so every team seemed to have really good score and people had little pressure on individual performance. It's a relaxing game, really.

Since I came to California, golf has really became enjoyable to me, and it's my pleasure to attend Drucker School's social event. It's so lucky to study here and to find out the fun of golf. Thanks to everyone who has played, talked, practiced golf with me!

Last week, there was finally a chance for me to watch this movie, Departure(送行者-禮儀師的樂章,おくりびと).

After seeing the movie, I could totally see the reasons that this movie could receive so many awards, and I recommended this movie to everyone.

Departure(送行者-禮儀師的樂章,おくりびと) reminded me to use a totally different perspective to observe things,

and it also contains many heart-touching stories. The family, the friendship, and the love between couples are all showed in the movie.

Among movies I recently saw, Departure is definitely an outstanding one, with impressive story, great actors(actresses), and deep meanings.

If you are waiting for a movie that may change your feeling about life, this may be the movie to watch.

The Annenberg Space for Photography 在 3/27/2009 於 Century City 開幕。位於 Century Park 的南邊，The Annenberg Space for Photography 是著名的 USC Annenberg School of Communication 與 University of Pennsylvania Annenberg School of Communication 背後的 Annenberg 基金會主辦的一個專門為視覺/攝影而設的展示館。

Century Park 的主要建築是 Century Plaza Towers，是由 Minoru Yamasaki 所設計的。一眼望去，可以看到 NYC World Trade Center (WTC) 的影子。沒錯，WTC 也是 Yamasaki 設計的。多年來成為洛杉磯法律等行業的第一選擇。律師的住址要不是 Century Plaza 的話，就無人問津。因為如此，幾年前 Century Plaza Towers 以南的空地加建一棟新的大樓，命名為 2000 Avenue of the Stars。在同一個時段，Century Plaza Towers 的大廳也重新裝修，與新的建築的風格呼應，成為一體。南加州沒有多少代表性的建築，而 Century City 因為離高速公路有一段路，所一一般觀光客不知道這棟大樓在七零年代曾經是最大的立體停車場之一，而且規劃完善，直到今天，還能夠讓擁擠的汽車出入方便。

說到停車，因為這裡是辦公大樓，所以週末毫無人煙。因此平日 8:30—16:30 (M-F) 三個小時 $3.50 （蓋章後的優惠價）的停車費用在 16:30 之後入場，或者週六/日全天的三小時停車費用是 $1.00。

在這個建築的正中心有兩個面對面的光面，後投射的螢幕。非常高的品質，把多有展示的照片用多媒體的方式呈現在觀眾眼裡。不過也因為如此方式，大家可以親身體會，沖印在 C-print 上面的畫質還是無法被投射式，甚至 Quad-HD (3840 x 2160) 所取代。

每個星期四的晚間 18:30 開始有攝影師的演講與示範，要事先預約。

微軟是贊助這個組織的成員之一，所以裡頭有兩個大螢幕 (42 吋）的 Surface。不讓我驚訝的，就是工作人員說，那兩個電腦的作業系統承受不了使用者的正常使用，整天當個不停。更妙的是，研究室裡頭有兩部電腦，一部 Windows Vista，一部 Macintosh，可是都用 23" 的 Cinema Display。就算 Cinema Display 的影像品質普普通通，整體上來說，這個空間對設計的風格要求嚴格，所以只有 Cinema Display 通過考驗。對了，那兩個 Surface 的玻璃桌子也設計得非常漂亮。

最重要的，不要看 MapQuest/Google Map。我告訴各位一個捷徑。

當你出來的時候，千萬別看路標，跑到 Robertson 去（E)，或者跑到 Overland （W)。照原路回高速公路。照路標往東走，上 I-10 東向的話，會跑到 Robertson 去，那就毀了。上列的那些路徑會碰上五個 Stop signs，但是路上都是西洛杉磯的正點住宅區。非豪宅，但是非常高雅的住宅區，很養眼。在上下班時間很快的就能夠到達高速公路出入口。這個是電影界與當地居民才知道的路徑。

Although Adamo is even thiner than Macbook Air, the weight is not lighter.

Also, the performance and battery life are not as good as people expected.

For people who are interested in buying this machine, maybe checking the review out first is a good choice.

Nothing can change the fact that I am a Taiwanese.

No matter which language I am using or trying to use, no matter what kinds of events I am trying to attend, no matter how hard I am trying to be not only a Taiwanese, I am and will always be a Taiwanese.

Sincerely, I am hoping Taiwanese can achieve more and collaborate more.

Claremont, California — The Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito Graduate School of Management at Claremont Graduate University has been named one of 15 top business schools for General Management in The Princeton Review’s Student Opinion Honors for Business Schools, a recognition that was highlighted in the April 2009 issue of Entrepreneur Magazine.

從小對於出國唸書就有著一個幻想: 想著在國外唸書, 英文變超強, 然後在美國找到很好的工作, 之後頂著光環回到台灣, 之類的種種不切實際幻想...

儘管許多長輩不斷給我建議: "你終究不是美國人, 還是要知道自己的根是在哪裡, 誰會提拔你, 誰會給你機會, 不要不切實際" 但我總還是抱持著原本的想法, 從申請學校的essay, 到美國來之後找的intern, 一個個動作都表明了我想在美國找工作, 想證明自己在這邊是有辦法生存的...

經過了八個月

可以說我終於漸漸夢醒了

姑且不論我實力根本就不夠, 就算在這邊找到工作又如何? 能有多大發展, 學到多少東西?

和我在學校的mentor聊過, 一些台灣來的前輩聊過, 自己花了好幾個月找尋工作之後, 漸漸我發現, 我必須要承認, 在這邊找尋工作的難度, 尤其在這個經濟狀況下, 實在是不容易實現的目標, 而且, 即使真的可以在這邊找到工作, 能夠為自己增加多少能力, 我真的是相當懷疑...

Finally, Michie, Sean, and I made the "Seafood Don." The materials were all bought in Marukai supermarket.(map is attached) We bought the sashimi seafood, such as salmon, scallops, sea urchin, etc. Michie cooked the 玉子燒 and I put everything on the rice. After Sean made the sauce, we had a great dinner. It's so lucky that we can even make 海鮮丼 here!

Coming back from San Francisco, the pleasure of meeting Edward still makes me feel good.

It's been a year since we met in Philadelphia. Time goes fast and we are at an age without certainty. No one knows he will be in the US or in Taiwan at May, and no one knows I will be here or somewhere else in summer. We both are struggling for our future. Because of a career fair, I found a reason to go and meet him. It's a nice trip, we went Napa, Stanford, and Apple headquarter. Of course, we did try hard in the career fair, too. I am really glad I went on this trip. Although we grew up together, now there is few chance we can meet and understand each other more.

This time, we met in San Francisco. Last time, we met in Philadelphia. Where will I see this guy next time? I have started looking forward to it!

Drucker School Classmates Won 2009 Net Impact Case Competition!

I couldn't resist letting you know right away the good news that our Drucker School team won the national NetImpact case competition yesterday at the LEEDS School of Business in Boulder, Colorado. Competing against some 85 other business schools, Drucker beat out the University of North Carolina and the team from MIT for first place honors, the national title, and the $6,000 prize. This NetImpact award is billed as "the premier case format competition built around businesses facing sustainability challenges while succeeding financially." Way to go, Emi (Makino), Tyler (Burrell), Jay (Hinton) and Sarah (Shwald)! You make all of us proud. This is a truly magnificent achievement.

I feel proud that although Drucker School is small, our students are outstanding enough to compete with those huge schools. Also, I have classed with all of these classmates, played golf with Tyler, and discussed QM project with Emi. It's a pleasure to work with these brilliant people.

Welcome my brother in Claremont

Last week, Sean came to the beautiful city, Claremont, to visit me. He will stay here for a while and apply school as well as lean English here. It is not common that two brothers are staying together for a long time at this age, but I feel I am lucky. Since I regard the experience being here would actually develop and help Sean in certain way, it is my duty and pleasure to make it happen.

There is one thing that I am happy about. Sean told me he is surprised that I got so many great friends who are eager to help me in many ways here. It's impressive to him, and, in fact, to me also, so I still want to say thank you to everyone who helps me and is being my friend. I love you all. Thank you!

Skiing & Super Bowl

Thanks to Paul, my first ski experience was so nice. He picked the Super Bowl day, knowing that no body will go skiing on that day, and we almost didn't need to wait for the lift. Although my balance was not so good and this was really the first time I put on the boots and skis, I enjoyed a lot and did not fall in the last time.

One of the most amazing was that I can even ski without my gloves and it was totally not cold. To ski with such few clothes on was so special and memorable, not to mention this was my first time!

After skiing, I joined all the friends who were watching and betting on the Super Bowl game in Dan's house. This was also a nice party with exciting game which made me understand how interesting American football can be. That was a long day, but it's worth it!

I wish I can go skiing again soon!

Long Trip

I just finished a long trip. To where? Back to my home, and my most familiar foreign country: Japan. Now, I am in beautiful Claremont, California again. This time, I felt totally different emotion from 8 months ago.

May, 2008, I was a stranger to Claremont. The traffic here was terrifying, the sun was amazingly shining, and the language and culture were so special and interesting. Jan, 2009, I am a returned student. The traffic here is more acceptable than Taiwan, the sun is so warm and charming, and the language and culture are not so fresh to me anymore. The biggest difference, surprisingly, is that I miss Asia much more than last time.

In Taiwan, many friends were so nice that they arranged to meet with me even they were busy. The period I stayed in Taiwan was very short and I was almost meeting friends every day. Finally, I could play games until sunrise with them again. Finally, I could sit in the noisy tea shop and chat with them. Finally, I could lay on the sofa in Scott's home and watch movie with them. Finally, I talked about all kinds of stupid words and gossip all night again. It is somehow meaningless, but I miss it a bit.

My family and I went to Japan again. This time, we had four people together, no one missed. I could finally take the photo for them again, for three of them.

Japan is still such a nice place to go for vacation and hot spring. This time, finally I tried a new Onsen hotel, 藏群, which is in Otaru and has a bar with free drink(including kinds of alcohol). We revisited Otaru and ordered sushi with my poor new learned Japanese. As a result, we had one of the most amazing experience of eating sushi in Japan.

Thanks for Michie, the Tokyo part of this trip was enjoyable as well as tiring. Kamakura(鎌倉) and Yokohama(橫濱) now have different images in my mind and these two places are really really beautiful. The dinner, Isakaya(居酒屋), and cafe we went with Sean's friend, Mariko, and Michie were all special. I am glad to have some different experience and places to go in Japan.

In this long trip, I did a lot I have wanted to do for a while, but there were also many things I could not do. I met some people but I also missed some people that I could not meet or talk with this time. There is always no perfect trip. That's why the trip is always beautiful in memory and perfect in planning.

My wish in the beginning of this year: my family can be healthy and happy, my brother can get admission from the school he wants, my friends can be successful and cheerful, and I can get an internship.

X'mas party, Little Tokyo Restaurant

To be honest, sometimes I feel I get confused that I am studying in the US or in Japan. Since I like Japan so much already and now I have so many good Japanese friends, it's not surprising that I always eat Japanese food. One of our favorite sushi place near Claremont is Little Tokyo. It's about 10 mins by car from Claremont. The Chef Tomy San is a kind, interesting, experienced sushi chef.

Today, "Little Tokyo" restaurant had their X'mas party. They prepared buffet style Japanese food and 太鼓 performance, which is really interesting to see in the US.
I went to the party with Michie and Ryo. We ate unbelievably tremendous food and enjoyed talking with Tomy San, drinking with huge sake cup, and great unlimited sushi. Looking around the party, I saw Hispanic, Chinese, Japanese, and American. Everyone enjoyed and was friendly. I am really grateful that I can stay in such a mixed-culture places so that I can meet so many different people who understand and respect each culture and opinion. Although it's just a X'mas party in a small Japanese restaurant, the experience made me feel I really learned a lot here.

Anyway, we ate and drank a lot. Next year, probably we will come again with more people. haha~

International Fellows Program Graduation Day

Since I started school in June, I have been learning English from four kind professors in IF program. I met many kind and intelligent Asian people, who are from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and China. We learned together, drink together, poker together, and now celebrate the program graduation together.

Yesterday, 15 of us finally graduated from this language program. In the beginning of the summer, we were so afraid of talking in English, and were so new to here that everyone was busy settling everything. Now, we worked so well. Even in OB class, comparing with American students, our presentation skill, analysis ability, and participation were all beyond the average. Of course, we need to thank IF program for the progress and all the help they offered.

I really appreciated IF program and I believe it is really a helpful program for international students. Of course, without it, we can still survive, learn, and perform, but it's like a buffer for me. After almost two years empty(military + school application), I was very close-minded and even stupid. However, during the two months in summer, IF program was so intense and the instructors were so aggressively demanding hard-working from us. I was totally recovered in the summer and prepared for the fall semester.

In short, thank to every great member in IF program, including faculty, staff, Drucker staff, and of course, my favorite classmates. Because of you, I gained a ton of great memories and improvements. Thank you all and let's cheer to our future!

Sometimes, I feel life is delivering some messages to me, and in order to let me really understand, it expresses its ideas by different people's words and attitude.

In college, I realized the importance of open-minded from Chinese Medical class, Mathematical logic, and a very good American teacher, Steve Wallace. These classes and people did not tell me, "You should be more open-minded," but they inspired me through the power of open-minded attitude.

Yesterday, I talked with one friend and we discussed about my future career a lot. By his experience, the glory of getting into "marketing devision" may not be necessary a good thing. Since everyone has the pride of being a part of the most competitive devision, in his experience, working there reduced his life quality a lot. He suggested that if he got into some "top-ranking" MBA school, he may feel high pressure and can not really make good relationship with people because everyone thinks they are the best.

When I applied MBA schools, I did try to apply by ranking on major magazines. However, I really felt I was wrong. I somehow feel this is my fate to come to Drucker, although it does not even attend most of the rankings because of small size and short history.

Since I was in Taiwan, one of my high school friends has strongly suggested me to choose Claremont because of the location and small size. At that time, I worried about the ranking and reputation of school, so I could not easily decide to come here. Now, I know she was right.

I was told by one of our Taiwanese American classmate that in top ranking schools, only the top students got the benefits. That makes sense. Who will want to hire the worst performance student in any school? Also, the huge class size of traditional top ranking MBA school leads the atmosphere not intimate and not close. These are not the qualities I am looking for in my MBA.

There is one friend, who is also working on her MBA, told me, "it take something to make my MBA's top ranking." when I suggested her to maintain healthy life style. To be honest, I felt I am lucky to be here because Drucker School matches my priority of life choices.

To know Japanese students is also helpful for me to understand myself. It's obvious that Japanese spend more effort and time on studying and working. I really admire and respect this attitude. However, when this leads to irregular or not enough sleeping time and little time for eating, I really can not agree.

In short, there are many choices in life. People choose what they think is right. However, there indeed is nothing right or wrong. Only one thing is for sure, different decisions lead to different results. I am grateful that I chose Drucker School and I hope everyone makes the choice that he(she) really desires!

Watching College Basketball

Today, I went to watch the college basketball in Honda Center, Anaheim, but we got an conclusion that the basketball game was just the entertainment for the cheerleader.....ha~

I am grateful that MBA office arranged this event. Although this is not NBA and there were not so many people attended, I think it's worth to see and college basketball is exciting.

One thing that I was happy about is the quality of my camera. We sat very far from the center but I took some good photos.
Anyway, it's a good experience and I enjoyed a lot. Next time, I should go to see the Lakers! (but it's so expensive.... >.<)

Move to CGU Dorm

Finally, I moved to CGU dorm.

Since I first contacted with housing office before I got here, the information they provided has already been doubtful for me. Based on their suggestion, I did not try to register for the new dorm because of highly competitive application. However, last month I suddenly got the information that there is a one-bedroom apartment available in CGU dorm. I immediately decided to move.

The process of checking the availability is a bit troublesome, but staff in housing are in fact pretty nice people. Although the working efficiency has been always a complaint of the students, I do believe they tried their best to serve us.

Anyway, finally, I moved in.

It's great that some friends are just as near as a few steps away from my room. The short distance from school is a great benefit that I can walk or ride bike to school easily. The only problem of lacking of internet has been temporarily solved by my kind neighbor who let me use her internet for free.

I would like to thank everyone who helped me to move here.

Since the plenty of moving experience in military, I know that if there are enough people helping, the moving process can be very fast. However, usually it's very difficult to gather people. I am lucky. All the friends here are so kind and so helpful that even during the final projects weeks, Kazuma, Ryo, Hiroshi, April, Naoto, Tian, and Michie all were helping. I really really appreciate and want to say thank you again.

Now, I stay in A104 in CGU dorm. I will try to create more memories and happiness here. This is my comfortable nest in California!

My American classmates

Before coming here, most rumors about American classmates in the US are negative. It seems to be a common sense that the language barrier is not the only problem existing between international students and American students. However, my experience in Drucker School is totally different, at least in my opinion.

Since this community is so diverse and international students are almost half of the class, although we do have about 50% of American classmates, American culture does not dominating the classroom experience. There are more than ten times I have heard this, "If you ask me(American) to make a presentation in Japanese or Chinese, I definitely can not do as well as you did." Whenever I this, I really appreciate their understanding and respectful attitude.

Recently, I have a project with three other international students and one American. Although we have not presented in the class yet, I have learned a lot. I am grateful that the American classmate is so patiently explain every detail and difference in the language part. In this team, he is the only one who use English as mother language, so I believe he somehow feels like an outsider. Although everyone is kind and helpful in my team, I understand how much effort the American classmate put in our project, not even mention that he is the only one who has full-time job.

The US is a huge country with a lot of philosophy that I can not totally agree. On the other hand, I do think we need to learn the open-minded attitude and diverse perspective. Of course, not everyone is as lucky as me and not everyone has good American team members, but there indeed is some very friendly, understanding, and helpful Americans that are trying to build positive relationship with internationals. I met a lot of them here in Claremont during this six months.

In short, I just want to appreciate them and I wish I can be as open minded and helpful as them.

Utah trip - Arches National Park

Thank Ryo & Kazuma, I enjoyed a great trip to Arches National Park during my first Thanksgiving holiday in the US.

We arrived at night after a long long driving. The lodge we stayed was so nice. I was surprised when I knew that we can even use free wireless internet in the room. The scenery was also amazing there! I felt we enjoyed the nature and luxury at the same time.

After a fun discussion about the plan of the next day, I fell asleep because of tiring long driving. It's really tough to drive more than ten hours a day. However, the experience is totally worth it. Some of us went horse riding on the second day. Riding horse on the trial with amazing view is a fantastic experience. My horse was very stable and cute. I was glad it was not so eager to eat nor too lazy to move. This was my first time to ride a horse and cross a small string. We took some great photos and everyone was satisfied with the guides.

We took some time in Arches National Park. The trials are enjoyable and the weather was good. We were lucky because it's cloudy but not rainy. If the rain came one day earlier, we could not hike anymore. Anyway, the Arches are unbelievable and we hiked a bit so that we could enjoy more in the dinner.

The dinner was in Moab brewery. People said it's good, and they didn't lie. After dinner, we came back lodge, chatted for a while, and played poker. Everyone was so tired that the next day no one could get up!

The rushing morning was also fun. We all were surprised that no one woke up before 10:30 a.m. and we almost could not check out on time. Obviously, we enjoyed a lot.

The driving was terribly long but also interesting. Especially when Kazuma's car suddenly showed up besides my car. We also ate two meals in Vegas and gambled a bit. This is a great trip with great partners.

Boston Trip - Boston Career Forum

Back from Boston, I was so grateful that my school is in California with great weather. Although I like the atmosphere in the comparably old city, the low temperature is still a huge problem for me.

This trip is valuable, I think. Despite no jobs for me, the opportunity to see and participate the biggest Japanese job fair in the US is still a useful experience. I interviewed with Vp of Amazon.jp. He is really calm and smart. In fact, I believed I did a good job in that interview, although I failed to get the intern because of the lack of my experience and language ability.

In the event, one may realize the stereo type: "Japanese can not speak good English." is totally wrong. There are so many new generation Japanese who can speak English much better than me. Maybe Japan will change dramatically in the near future. Who knows.

I am glad that I could meet the recruiter of Wunderman again. I regard this is a great company to work for and also a place really attracts me.

The Taiwanese shabu shabu in Boston is the most impressive surprise for me. I enjoyed the shabu shabu which has 麻辣鍋底, 蒜泥 and 沙茶醬 with Japanese friends. We even ate two times in different shabu shabu restaurant during out very short stay.

In fact, I feel guilty by flying so far without getting a job back. However, I can only keep trying and practicing. I believe some day those dots in my life will somehow connect to each other. I can only keep my faith in myself. That's all I can do.

Lucky Guy

This post is just about some recent feelings.

I am such a lucky guy. And I always know that.

The best thing that keeps happening to me is the great people & friends I meet.

My family is so supportive and understanding.

There are so much solid friendship from my elementary school classmates.

My high school friends know me so well and our relationship are so deep and long.

Now, I am here. Again, so many kind, knowledgeable, and helpful friends are around me.

I learned how to enjoy golf. I received so many help for my job hunting.

There are so many great people trying to make me a better person.

How can I let them down.

Last night, I met my alumni mentor, who is trying to find me an internship more aggressively than I am. Is the luck from my name: "The one who get great people's help, guide, and support"?

The only thing I can do is to achieve my goal, to show them their help is worth it, to demonstrate I do learn from them, and to honestly present my heart to them.

I wish all my family and friends the best.

You are not wasting your time on me. I will not let you down.

Atlanta trip:NSHMBA career expo

I came back from Atlanta last Sat. night. There are lots things that I learned from this event. First of all, the economy is really shrinking right now. All the companies are offering much less openings than demands. Although that might be the truth for anytime, the difficulty of finding a job is extremely high right now.

Second, the opportunities for international students are even fewer. There are few reasons that a company needs to hire someone from other country, especially at this moment. They may want to hire me in their Chinese branch or Hong-Kong one. And that may be the highest possibility my intern will be.(if I can really get one)

Third, I need to learn and get used to American culture in order to get an offer here. All those social events, greeting conversations, and strong confidence in expressing oneself make me uncomfortable, but I need to overcome it or I will never get a job here!

It's a tough mission and I do not think I can achieve it. However, this is also a chance to grow, to learn, to be open-minded, so I will keep trying. Boston career forum! I am coming soon!

Start to worry about internship

The problem of getting a job finally showed up recently.

If I am in Taiwan and seeking for a job in Taiwan, I will not worry too much about this issue Although I do not have much experience, I do have confidence in my ability. But finding a job in the US or even in Japan is totally different.

First of all, there is language problem. No matter how much I've improved since I got here(which is not much), my English is still way below an average level American. How is it possible to fix this problem before next summer? Furthermore, seeking chance to get job in Japan, I need to learn one more language of which I am really a beginner. I really should spend more time on language to be more capable for future.

Second, the problem is about experience. If I have lots working experience and outstanding performance which can be the evidence of my ability, the windows will still open to me even my language is not so perfect. However, experience is also my weakness, a huge one. I am glad I worked part-time before but those are not enough.

Anyway, I am a little depressed recently because of dealing with job fair and finding such little chance to succeed.

久違了的中文網誌

好長一段時間沒用中文打網誌了

但是有些東西沒用中文打還是沒感覺

英文也沒有因為寫網誌而進步

今天就暫時切換回中文模式吧

開學一個禮拜

課業壓力很明顯的愈來愈重了

但大學我也不是念假的統計啦會計啦對我來說都不算太難吧

這個週末去了LA Downtown 的 Little Tokyo

還有去找一間在日本很popular的店Book-Off

昨天去play golf & poker

今天卯起來趕作業之外還參加了Taiwanese Student Association 的 Welcome party

每天都是這樣的好忙碌呀

英文說進步嘛其實是不滿足的

單字的累積還是少的可憐課業嘛老師都很棒

但是內容因為是剛開始吧又都是我學過的東西

倒不至於太興奮將來可以選課或者上有關Drucker的東西

應該會比較讓人期待吧

老師和同學的水平都很高

不是說腦筋好就是水平高

怎麼說呢聰明和好相處和有很多工作經驗和懂得人和很多其他東西都是很重要的

這裡的氣氛很好非常肯定自己選對了學校

同樣是花一大筆錢花兩年時間

環境的重要性自然是不在話下能進到這裡是緣份也是好運吧

昨天去打Golf

感覺很好一陣子沒打了

前兩洞的表現不是用"爛"就可以形容的

但之後愈來愈穩

打到七八九三洞整個感覺都很穩很好

有種"我真的會打耶" 的那種感覺

真好呀一直以來都那麼弱終於有點進步了

或許這兩年內我的golf skill真能有點突破呢!

暑假去了那麼多地方

也真的見識到了

美國真的好大呀

中國也是吧我想

還有好多地方沒見識過沒體驗過

這輩子怎麼夠用呢呵

好久沒和台灣的朋友們聯絡了

繁忙的事務加上時差

已經和乃倫說了希望大家可以找個時間

要是可以用skype和大家聊聊天該有多好

來這裡已經超過三個多月

好多事情都有了變化

其實只覺得自己再探索

在orientation裡面聽到Dean of Drucker School說了一句話

讓我對這學校和我自己充滿了信心

他說"我問了很多很多校友,Drucker School帶給他們什麼,每個人的回答幾乎都是一致的:

Drucker School就像指南針一樣, 讓我們找到人生的新的方向"

儘管日子過得很繁忙

倒不是真的很辛苦的

玩得很兇書也唸得很兇

思考的時間也不至於沒有

總是想"這樣做對嗎?" 或者 "該不該怎樣呢?" 之類的問題

對於金錢對於事業對於感情對於朋友

我這才發現我還有個赤子之心呀儘管25歲了

沒有一件事情是有定論的

日本同學老是告訴我

Future will change

是呀就是這樣囉

考慮那麼多不如體驗多一點吧

這兩年的目標

體驗感受找到人生的compass

繼續加油吧!

Wonderful Summer Vacation - 2

My second trip in summer vacation is to San Francisco & Yosemite. This trip is totally different from Vegas one because the beauty of SF and Yosemite is so natural and healthy!

We didn't get on the cable car. The reason is the cars are too crowded to get on and they didn't even stop for new passengers. However, these cable cars are really cute, so I must get on one of them next time!

Fisherman's Wharf is a famous place to go. Although, for me, it's not so special but there are many interesting performers on the street and the atmosphere is pretty good.

To park my car besides the steep street in SF is really a challenge. Of course, it's fun, too. I like this strange city with many many up & down hills.

The Golden Gate Bridge is very unclear when we visited since the weather was not good. Although we have heard that to see such a unclear Golden Gate in fog is not usual and we should feel lucky, we still hope we can see clearly. Maybe next time, ha!

Yosemite is a wonderful place to go camping. We stayed in tent and it really recalled my memory of boy-scout! The air, rocks, lake and rivers in Yosemite are all very beautiful and quiet.

This rainbow showed after we finally arrived the waterfall by tracking 2 hours. I found I need to train my body since I am getting old...

There are ten of our traveling partners. This trip became so terrific because of them. Especially the night before leaving, I really enjoyed drinking with them!

This one is taken in Glacier Point. The background is very spectacular. We can see the track of the ancient glacier. It's an amazing place.

The trip to SF and Yosemite is so colorful that I really want to go these two places again. Also, I appreciate all the partners who travel together and help each other during these days. Thank you!

Wonderful Summer Vacation -1

The Fall semester is going to start in a few days.During this summer vacation, I was so busy that I couldn't even find a time to write my blog.

Finally, after a lot of traveling and new experience, today I have time to record these fantastic memories.

And I would like to start from the final presentation of IF program.

Aug 13th, 2008, we finished our final presentation.

An accident happened to my group and it's my job to take care of it.

It is my mistake to let that happen, so I was really not happy at that time.

I always think that I can handle my parts of jobs, but in fact, I failed many times...

However, the Karaoke after the reception helped me release my bad mood and I was so pleased to see all the classmates laughing and enjoying the singing as well as dancing!

Then, summer vacation comes.

I had two long trips and two short trips during these two weeks.

We went to Las Vegas and Grand Canyon.

Las Vegas is an amazing place which make people show and satisfy their desires.

It is a place that I think I should not stay for too long.

Just as a friend said in this trip, "You lose money and gain weight in Vegas."

Even though it is a city of desire, I really enjoyed there and I totally understood why people love Vegas!

Grand Canyon is a beautiful and amazing place, too.

We drove there in the midnight and enjoy the fresh cold air there in the morning.

It's a very special experience!

The end of July, The beginning of August, 2008

During this period, I went to Angels Stadium, Huntington Garden, New Port Beach, Hollywood, Santa Monica, Magic Mountain, and Nan's party.

The night we went to Angels Stadium is Friday night, so we got the chance to see a very beautiful fireworks show. And of course, it is an exciting game, too!

The trip to Huntington Garden is by Nan, my previous group leader. The garden is unbelievably huge. There are both Chinese and Japanese gardens which are well constructed. We really felt like we were in Japan and China. In fact, I an thinking about join the membership of this garden so that I can go there often to enjoy the peace and silence there.

We went to New Port Beach with I-place. Everyone was crazy in that trip. I felt I have an old soul inside because I could not play as insanely as all the elder friends! However, I still got serious sun burn and had a lot of fun.

My cousin visited me on last week. We went to Hollywood, Santa Monica and Magic Mountain. I did my best to take her look around. I hope she enjoyed this trip, too. She even attended the party in Nan's house. All of my friends were kind to her and she kept chatting that night. I am really glad. Nan's house is very big and with a pool. We played in the pool and everyone became crazy again. I was thrown into the pool without swimming pants!

Anyway, the life here is really fun and full of interesting stories.

I enjoy a lot.

The Adventure to Universal Studio

During four days assignment-free holidays, on 7/12, two Y's couples, Tian, Michi, Xiao & Sun and I went to the Universal Studio!

This is a good place to go, of course. Although it's a little bit childish, the atmosphere is interesting. We went to the House of Horror first. It is so fun to see Y push A to keep moving forward. He is a really role model of husband. Ha!

The show "Water World" is great and very entertaining. We went to see the 4-D animation of "Shrek", which is kind of childish. However, I felt I become a boy again and I enjoyed the feeling. The "Mummy" and "Jurassic " are really fantastic and also terrifying! I look so scary in the photo! These games also made me feel exciting, too.

Anyway, we saw a lot of movie scenes in Universal Studio and played plenty games, too. It is so lucky that the weather was not too hot that day. I had planned to go further during these four days, but we did not go anywhere further than 50 miles eventually. However, I still got rest in these vacation and had a lot of fun.

I am refreshed now. Come and challenge me, IF Module 2!

Enjoyeable round of golf

This is the first time I played golf with just friends.
Dan, our instructor in IF program, played with us. It is a very enjoyeable game !
Everyone plays in a relaxing mood, so no people are pushy or in a hurry.
We just enjoyed thr game itself. This is the most important thing!

I am so glad that we can do this together. Maybe I will love golf more and more in the future!

Dodgers Stadium

Last Saturday, we went to Dodgers Stadium. I was so happy that I can finally see a ball game in the US. Maneul, who lived with Naoto, and his family are so kind that he bought the tickets for us, took us to have a Mexican lunch, and gave us beers before the game. This family is just wonderful and kind. His two kids are both cute and energetic, which made us a great day.

The sun was too strong that day. I didn't even have a hat! Anyway, I still enjoyed the atmosphere in the stadium, although we lost the game. By the way, I saw 郭弘志 and he did very well. We even got a group of Taiwanese encouraging him loudly. I was so happy to hear that, "郭弘志你好棒!" here.

At the end of the day, we went to Pasadena to go shopping and eating. Thanks you Vicky! The Japanese restaurant satisfied my Japanese classmates! I am so proud of you. Ha!

It's good to go out with international students here.

We must go to more places to do more fun stuffs, right?

Thanks to Yoshi couples !

I have never thought that I can drink beer with Japanese, Korean and Taiwanese at the same time in the same room! The place is just great for us. Yoshi is so kind that he invite all of the IF classmates to his apartment. The food is impressive. Thanks to the Japanese girls! With so much delicious food, I am very very satisified.

It's a pity that two people can not attend this party, but we did have a good time. Bo-hyung showed his pictures and Yoshi showed the video to us which make me feel we are really getting close now. I enjoyed listening to Japanese classmates talking and trying to learn Korean or Japanese. Although Zack and I represented the Taiwanese students, we are so unsimilar that no one can find a typical Taiwanese image. Or maybe the typical Taiwanese image is just not exist...

Ryo is really like a older brother for me. He shared so much and so honestly that I learned a lot during some normal conversation. Watching Naoto, Ryo, or Bo-hyung talking is really fun. Each of them has their own habbit while talking. It is interesting even just watching and listening to their speeches.

Anyway, thanks for everyone there. I am so glad that I got so many new friends from other countries. And it's my pleasure to know all of you. It is so amazing that we can get along well without any problem! I appreciate all of you that regard me as your friend. This is a great dinner with lots of laughs.

Difficult to Improve

I found it is so hard to improve my English.

Even I speak in English all day, mine vacabulary is still so limited...

The assignments do help, but most of them are not for vocabulary, which I can only increase by reading a lot and looking up in dictionary.

Although it is obvious that language can never be improved so fast, after trying to speak out during the case discussion with American students, I do feel a little depressed.

To cook some eatable things for myself and to try to finish as much assignment as possible is my the only things on my daily schedule now.

I really hope that I can see the progress of my improvement.

That's all.

A Wonderful Dinner with Classmates in IF Program 2008

This is a great night for me.

It's the first weekend since the class starts.

It's the first time that we have dinner together.

It's the first time I laugh so loudly after I got here.

The food is good. Thanks for Bo Hyung.

To have such a great Korean dinner, the skill of ordering is pretty important.

When I first mention that we may have dinner together to Ryo,

I didn't know there would be almost all of us.

The contract of not speaking our own language is tough for some people, but we still communicate very very well.

Yoichi and Yoshi both took their wives tonight, and this is definitely the first time I have dinner with so many Japanese.

I am so sorry that I forgot to tell Xiao that we have changed place and kept her waiting for so long.

Thanks for your forgiveness, Xiao!

All the others are just so incredibly kind that they just waited for us and only ordered 10 minutes before we got the restaurant.

Naoto impressed me with his singing, and Yoshi's wife is my favorite Japanese star's high school classmate! It just amazing and exciting that we can have such a great dinner together.

On my way home, I am so glad that Tian-You and Bo-Hyung can be on my car!

We talked about marriage, which is kind of a strange issue for us, but it was really an interesting conversation!

Since Bo-Hyung is getting married and Tian-You gets a stable relationship, I am just the one who kept questioning and asking for some answers to fulfill my strong curiosity about marriage and relationships. They indeed brought me lots information and ideas, which make sense and sound useful for me.

Anyway, we talked a lot, laughed a lot, and ate a lot.

It's my pleasure to have so many great classmates during this summer and my upcoming MBA program.

I have already looked forward to drinking with Ryo and all of you!

I Got My Student ID !

今天下午下了課之後知道Student ID已經可以領取

就和Naoto一起去拿上面這張就是啦

照片是現場照的拍得不錯整個學生證都很有質感

在校內的商店可以當儲值卡使用

拿到之後可以進出圖書館了終於有了一個學生的身份感覺很好

有歸屬感是很重要的

I am a student of Drucker School ! Finally!

這幾天相當忙碌每天都馬不停蹄的感覺今天早上終於按照計畫騎車上學

昨天也拿到汽車駕照了各方面漸漸上了軌道相對課業也愈來愈重

在交大準備一個禮拜的東西在這邊只有一個或兩個晚上可以準備

這種感覺很好有一點點被逼到但是努力的方向又是我有興趣的方向

接下來的兩年肯定會很充實我已經可以預想到了

跟同學相處非常愉快目前認識一個韓國朋友五個日本同學兩個台灣同學

大家都在orientation就簽下投名狀在學校講中文韓文日文者必殺之

所以我們很有默契很乖巧的都講英文即使只有兩個台灣人相處也都講英文

感覺英文的熟稔度增進的很快

大家聊天聊得都很開心必竟都是亞洲人彼此多少有點了解

兩個日本同學都已婚一個三個月前結婚有帶老婆來

另一個的老婆還在日本工作陪兩個很小的小孩

韓國同學的未婚妻也還在韓國但是十二月就會過來這邊

真好呀每個人都有老婆是怎樣

他們還問我結婚沒我真是傻了不知道該怎樣回答

我說我連GF都沒有而且我還很年輕呀我說我24歲竟然大家都一臉驚訝...

是怎樣我看起來很老是嗎?

老師人都很好學校環境超一流舒服安靜(主因是現在是summer) 設備也都很好

今天走進computer lab 看到十台白色iMac 心情只有雀躍而已呵

新生活愈來愈緊湊每天都有meetings 一直認識新朋友而且大多不是台灣人

唯一要做的就是把握這個環境好好努力

還有什麼比這個更讓人欣喜的呢?

去買了新鮮的雞蛋但是買完東西回到停車的地方

我竟然在車子右側的門上看到一道白痕

本來想說是髒東西吧想把它抹掉

這才發現竟然是道刮痕...

心痛呀!!!

我這麼小心的開小心的保護它

我的小黑兔竟然莫名其妙多了道傷痕

So sad.....

真不知道那個沒良心的去刮到我的車

你不會痛我會痛呀! 害我難過了一下

雖說錢財是身外之物啦...

也無可奈何只能以後更小心一點了

The Orientation of International Fellow Program

本來一直覺得最好搞定的就是學習

在這邊應該是交朋友啦文化的適應啦各方面比較困難

看來事實不見得是如此

今天聽了聽課程的介紹不過就是個語言課嘛

搞得這麼intensive...

感覺光是聽他們介紹就覺得自己會頂不住...

遇到了日本韓國中國同學

全都是以後MBA的同學

主要還是日本同學居多

一進教室竟然先要我們先一份contract

聲明自己接下來每個要上課的日子

早上九點到下午五點之間不能使用英文以外的語言

真是太心機了... 我們這種有良心的人

簽下去就真的得這樣做了

anyway

這些教授都很專業對於他們的教學也很有信心

重點是他們對於訓練國際學生都很有經驗很有耐心

感覺很好一整天下來就覺得英文進步很多了

下午出來前大家聊天都可以很順暢

希望這兩個月可以突飛猛進一下

是說...教科書怎麼這麼貴呀...是想靠這樣逼我們唸書嗎!

主要傢俱終於到齊囉! 明天開學!

今天上午在大家幫忙下終於把沙發書櫃還有我期待已久的書桌搬進公寓中了

有好心學姐給的電鍋很多東西也比較方便煮啦真是太好了

把我的Bose喇叭移到空蕩蕩的客廳書櫃因為太大弄不進房間就也擺在客廳反正客廳也很空

把房子整理了一下覺得自己真是住得太好了... 有點覺得太奢侈...

中午和大家去吃韓式料理還不錯好久沒吃豆腐鍋了也是有點懷念呵

晚上熱心的Vicky本來想讓我端午節有粽子吃但去的店竟然肉粽賣完了

只剩下充滿花生的素粽後來變成用控肉飯跟剉冰作為今晚的晚餐加甜點

不過離開前在超市門口竟然看到有人在賣台灣粽...還跟我說是台南粽...到底是怎樣

想說端午節還是買個粽子就買了兩顆改天再來吃

明天就是orientation 開學日

終於搞了兩個禮拜把大多數事情都搞定了

也要進入新的里程碑告訴自己要加油

錢跟時間都花了跑了大半個地球來這邊

可不能只是學做菜跟做家事洗車之類的 >.<

自己做的今天的午餐

今天的午餐

黃椒炒牛肉蒜炒空心菜煎干貝一碗白飯一碗香菇雞湯一大片西瓜

既然閒閒沒事做除了把一些雜事依序處理一下中午就想好好弄頓飯

還沒有電鍋可以用煮白飯很麻煩

前兩天大多只吃麵想說既然有黃椒可以炒牛肉

手上又有對面Fresh&Eat的折價券今天就特地去買了$20讓它抵$5

結果又買了干貝實在還是喜歡吃海鮮呀

空心菜弄得太大支了應該切小段一點的

牛肉炒太久有點乾又放到涼掉才吃除此之外都還不錯啦

其實算是喜歡弄吃的

光是以前烤肉也喜歡一直烤給別人吃

想想我還跟嘉泰一起上過烹飪呢哈

但是...煮飯真是費時費工也才弄個三菜一湯而且都是很簡單的東西

我就搞得灰頭土臉了

只能說當媽媽的真是不容易四菜五菜一湯的煮還天天要煮

想到就頭昏了

自己生活還是要磨練一下廚藝希望可以愈來愈進步每次學會一點

Before Sunrise, Sunset

這兩天看了這兩部在我硬碟裡已經待了很久的電影

為什麼一直沒有心情看這幾天卻會想去看我不知道

兩部都是悶悶的有種打不到sweet spot的感覺的電影

對話很有意思說深邃不深邃說老掉牙卻又挺有新意

人都是很矛盾的多多少少渴望著浪漫

而又害怕過度的浪漫顯得不成熟

男女主角的浪漫情懷應該會讓很多人動容

但我卻沒太大感覺可能我不認為一兩天可以培養出太多情感

一兩個禮拜都有人嫌太短了何況一兩天呵

但是那種悸動我倒相信是有可能的

兩個人在九年後再次重逢

是真的還有感覺只是再次掉入浪漫的陷阱

感覺的本身又多麼不可靠

相約半年後再見面劇中人物失敗了

因為太多的浪漫情懷兩人沒留下任何聯絡方式就分別

然後就錯過了這就是有緣無份嗎

科技讓人懶惰甚至讓人疏離

但我卻很慶幸有了網路上的種種聯絡方式

印象最深的畫面是Before Sunrise最後一幕

兩個人搭上不同方向的車一個往巴黎一個往機場

卻都在獨自坐著回憶前一晚時露出了微笑

喜歡那種微笑

就像早晨出去散步微風吹拂臉龐時

就像跑到日本在築地市場一口咬下最愛的握壽司時

就像聽到一首讓人不禁想跟著哼唱的歌曲時

所露出的微笑

因為這一幕我寫下這篇感想

Newport Beach, 本多屋

今天中午吃咖哩據說是很簡單容易的料理

所以在蓉真大廚的主導下算是吃得很滿意

下午 Vicky問要不要去海邊我當然是很樂意多看看

於是我們在Vicky的帶領下去了Newport Beach偏南的沙灘

距離有點小遠但是路況順暢其實也沒花太多時間

到了那邊一整個就是很優雅到處都是好車豪宅

三個人一人帶一杯咖啡慢慢散步到沙灘邊

沙灘美極了不會太商業化很自然而且感覺乾淨

到處都是在曬太陽的胖洋人每個人都玩得很開心的感覺

享受著陽光腳下踏著冰涼的海水拍了些照

晚餐去吃本多屋在 Tustin的一家日式料理

真是好吃雖然有點小貴但聽說這邊的物價習慣後就會覺得還好了

師父都是日本人外面超級大排長龍我們等了大概一小時吧

出來時外面排了更多人真是誇張

他的烤雞肉串跟鰻魚都相當讚甚至我覺得勝過大多數台灣所能吃到的

生魚片也挺好的氣氛很不錯的一家居酒屋類型的餐廳

下次家人來應該帶去吃吃

車子開沒有幾天已經三百多miles

明天還要載蓉真去機場這樣算是物盡其用嗎? 哈

多認識了兩個朋友多知道了一個沙灘跟一家餐廳很開心

老友蓉真訪

這兩天剛好梁蓉真同學在LA附近看他沒地方住也就收留他兩晚

明天要送他去機場啦其實是靠他幫忙了不少雖然說我是挺有興趣想煮東西

但畢竟沒啥實戰經驗呀到了超市要怎麼買完全沒概念

對於價錢也沒半點了解幸好蓉真在幫了不少忙畢竟她也在美國待了兩年

各方面都比我熟悉一點尤其對於買菜的基本認識這兩天一起去買真是有學到不少

其實很久沒見到蓉真了吧

好像有一兩年了

時間真快呀她在做回台灣前的最後一趟在美國的旅行

之後也不知道和時會在碰到面

能在這邊這樣剛好遇到雖然我是個不稱職的新來的地主

但是地主之誼還是要盡的

畢竟是我們八七的好夥伴嘛!

希望可以在這邊見到八七的夥伴們

哲瑋的婚禮我回不去真的是耿耿於懷呀...

但漸漸忙碌的大家只要有心還是會這樣偶而遇到不是嗎

想起高中一起度過的日子想起大學一起上凱晏家別墅

很慶幸自己一直珍惜著和朋友相處的日子

往前走往後看

The First Night in My Apt.

終於...
今天是我第一次坐在我接下來要住的公寓裡面寫網誌

這是個忙碌的一天感覺自己像是回到當兵時候出一整天的公差
但當然心情絕對不是出公差的心情就是了
一早起來和Barbara, Greg 一起吃早餐小聊了一下之後
我提議要照相於是我們到房子後面拍照他們拍我我拍他們

就這樣和 host family say good-bye

開始整理我為數不多的行李把腳踏車輪子拿掉放到後座

行李上車和Greg打聲招呼就這樣移動到我現在住的地方

組腳踏車終於稍微熟練了一點行李也不多很快就都放進屋子

Jacky的東西還真是多到一個可怕...

讓我不禁害怕自己之後也這樣...一定要提醒自己少買少買才可以...

當我把房子內一切熟悉之後我打掃了浴室洗臉台把櫃子都擦了擦

然後出去吃午餐吃了Jacky他們推薦的炸雞

這才發現我在費城吃過這家牆上的怪圖案一樣很好認

下午去逛了Target 採買一些目前急需的東西

只是逛街而已但卻覺得很累...我想我不喜歡自己在那裡走來走去

買些不會有滿足趕得東西...

然後到隔壁的Circuit city

我入手了已經肖想很久的BOSE Companion 3

買回來後接上電腦稍微享受半首歌

就又出門去拿Allen要賣我的東西了

這次就累了好多呀把我的小黑兔容量發揮到極限

連客廳桌都給它塞進去感覺好像在霸王硬上弓

幸好我的小黑兔是公的!

有圖有真相

就這樣搬來搬去搬來搬去

我真的是欠操練...搬完以後覺得好累啊

回到公寓覺得自己真的快掛點了

黑色的車子真的被曬得很熱

開來開去又搬來搬去今天公寓樓下又在施工

吵得要命感覺就是不舒服

馬上決定晚上一定要好好吃個晚餐才行

我又整理了一下房子跟家裏視訊一下之後

決定去吃日本料理結果點了個我以為是湯麵的出來卻是炒麵...

但是我點了兩個いか　にぎり很棒也就算慰勞了自己了!

今晚...帶著吃飽了的滿足感一邊等著衣服洗好

一邊寫寫blog 一邊聽著好音質的音樂

雖然還要弄個一陣子我的公寓內部佈置才會逐漸成型

但有個自己的窩還是覺得很好了

感謝這其中出力的所有人感謝家裏讓我有這麼好的環境!

在Host Family最後一晚

今晚是最後一晚住在這邊啦明天早上就準備搬家進到下一個階段

本來以為晚餐因為Greg的meeting得去吃外面沒想到他沒參加完全程

還能夠吃到他的海鮮義大利麵配上一點義大利的白酒晚餐依舊豐盛

今天那隻公狗Puka發神經拼了命想上那個已經老態龍鍾的Ginny

讓人看了不勝唏噓 Ginny甚至逃到Barbara的腿上以免被騷擾

這真是一個奇怪的畫面尤其當你一邊吃飯的時候發生...

今天早上很意外收到Jacky的邀請跑去和Randy, Jacky, Christine

一起去打球羽球沒得打轉戰籃球場好久沒打球了感覺全身都很僵硬

果然運動還是不夠... 穿那鞋子也超難打的是該來雙球鞋

不過能這樣玩球很開心之後還在旁邊的沙灘排球場地玩一顆奇怪的球

很怪吧? 在一大片草地中間有一個可以打沙灘排球的場地真的是沙灘喔!

果然Pomona是個怪學校...哈

午餐去吃越南麵份量也未免太多了一整個就很飽

是挺好吃不過我覺得Paul帶我去的那家更好吃只是很遠就是了

下次要問問他那是在哪裡才好

下午不知怎的很累難得的洗各澡睡了午覺還睡到很晚

今天真像個假日雖然說其實我天天都是假日...

明天得稍微忙一下雖然搬家要搬的東西不多但還是得搞一個早上吧

希望一切順利趕快入住囉!

終於拍板定案了真高興剛剛和Jacky簽了合約連家具都大致上底定了

再過一天就要搬過去終於有了自己的Apartment小窩太好了

今天早上去Allen那看他要賣的東西去AT&T更改了地址

在附近聽Jacky建議吃了家中國餐館還不錯吃雖然麵條很怪但味道ok

之後還去逛了IKEA

自己去逛IKEA還挺無聊的就走走看看做些紀錄了解一下床的價錢而已

今天開車已經比較習慣這邊了感覺順暢多了

下午回來又出去騎腳踏車但我白痴要調煞車後輪的問題解決了

卻把前輪弄得更糟糕然後又去往山上騎真的差點掛在那邊

超蠢...

累得半死回來後才又把煞車調一下希望這次不要再有問題...

今天大廚Greg用豬肉配上 Big Potato 真好吃不過因為晚上跟Jacky有約

所以也就沒喝wine 可惜不然一定更棒

吃飽喝足休息一下就去Jacky那邊哈禮拜三之後就是我那邊了

Jacky人很好呀合約什麼都準備好了

我看看簽名就好突然有種當兵當長官的感覺真是感謝學長啦!

一切都就緒了明天陸陸續續搬一下後天就有新家了

期待但也覺得一定會很孤單吧剛住進去沒人陪

也該面對一下自己了

房子確定! 自己逛Montclair Plaza, 終於可以騎車

今天算是充實早上起床比較晚去吃早餐

但是Greg和Barbara都在我們三個人邊吃邊聊

聊天聊了一個小時挺愉快的幸運的是他們對亞洲狀況比較了解

又都是知識水平挺高的人再加上他們對事物都還保有好奇心

不然以我的程度怎麼可能跟兩個美國老先生老太太聊這麼久

學到很多也覺得這頓早餐真是豐富感謝Barbara還借我打氣機

我的腳踏車輪胎終於打滿氣了

今天天氣不錯有點冷但我始終沒有遇到雨雖然早上看起來要下要下的

所以我還是開車去找Jacky他們終於談妥了搬家事宜

應該兩三天內就會搬過去房子我看過很滿意房租也算便宜

離學校的距離我騎車不會超過半小時一切都很完美我覺得很好

後來他們幾個去看他們的房子我就去逛賣場

Target, Circuit City, Montclair Plaza 逛到我頭暈

看到Bose的音響好想買...但我已經不是那個說買就買的熱血青年了

沒錢作罷

中午和Jacky他們一起吃

要他們帶我去吃我不知道的店

是家泰式料理東西不錯份量也多價錢合理

又多知道一間店

吃完很晚了我看天氣比想像中好決定還是要騎騎車

不然過沒多久變成神豬就不妙

於是我回來換了褲子準備準備就出去騎車了

本來想嘗試去沒去過的地方

後來看天氣不支到會不會突然下雨又有點懶

還是以Claremont為主在那邊繞來繞去

這才發現我根本不願意騎出這塊區域雖然騎出去的路況也不至於不好

但是在Claremont City騎車還是最舒服的了

感覺一整個就是好

吹著徐徐的微風聽著王力宏陶喆張學友我帶著太陽眼鏡

四處欣賞看到很多人門口放個支持歐巴馬或支持希拉蕊的牌子

在校園內四處照相騎上坡再滑下來呼吸有點冰冷卻又清新的空氣

我發現我是笑著的真的選對學校了...

晚上回來大廚Greg又展現手藝了

除了一盤小沙拉麵包還有煮的一整支玉米

主食是牛排韓式的烤法那香氣我喜歡

Barbar替我倒了杯紅酒跟一杯冰開水

Puka(Greg's dog)偶而會站起來趴到我腿上看著我的牛肉

我想我是很糟他嫉妒的吧

今天很充實漸漸步上正軌

還是覺得自己英文很差他們家人的談話我常常聽不懂

只能再加油囉

挺興奮的但是也覺得壓力很大

其實從未想過這麼年輕就開一台自己專屬的車

總視覺的沒賺過什麼錢開什麼車呢

但是在這邊要是沒車不只是麻煩而已

那可不是變成超級宅男就可以解決的問題

浪費的時間更是會無法估計

所以來之前就決定買車幸好有Paul在

他對車非常懂他的車我又挺喜歡買了一樣的VW Rabbit

找了他認識的Dealer 還是個台灣人

結果我又讓host family大開眼界昨晚說今天要去看車

下午就開了一台新車回來

雖然感覺很草率但我可是研究了很久討論了很久呀

況且跑一趟Pasadena對沒車的人來講可是超級麻煩

Paul又不是天天有空陪我逛我當下就決定了買下來

車子很棒有Paul和他熟識的台灣經銷商

整個過程服務各方面都很棒價錢也被壓到很低

德國原廠組裝的車子我喜歡在台灣幾乎買不到德國廠的了吧

開起來感覺相當不錯就是馬力太強了點

有點恐怖但也很快就習慣了

Paul真是好人看了車帶我跟他家人一起吃飯之外

下午領了車後還花了快要一個小時教我路考要注意的事情

還有帶我開freeway

教我每個細節如何換車道如何紅燈右轉如何three points turn

讓我感覺熟悉多了才讓我自己上路回來

太感謝Paul了對一個幾乎算是陌生人來說這樣的幫忙真是無可挑剔了

晚上回來再次享用Greg的晚餐

一對夫妻永遠都是老公煮飯的還真不多

可他也真會煮今天是吃烤魚昨天的義大利麵也很棒

感覺像在吃西餐廳配上一小杯white wine 晚餐也是享受

今天過得很充實

又完成一件大事情接下來考駕照搬家買家具

一切就大功告成進度很順真是太好了!

The third day here

下雨天留客天

沒想到五月底來到Claremont 竟然會遇到這樣的下雨天

昨天下雨今天也下雨今天還下得更多更久

我帶來的腳踏車伴隨著我用簡便打氣筒打得不飽的輪胎

靜靜在車庫裡我又能如何呢?

早上和台灣的朋友還有在法國的劉立聊天

就這樣度過去了我別無選擇呀沒車哪裡都去不了

頓時有了想馬上買車的念頭...

中午 Jacky, Randy, Christine來接我一起去吃午餐

這是種親切感去吃日本料理竟然有相當不錯的握壽司

還有烏龍麵可以吃總算掃除了今天無法出門的鬱悶

但雨還是一直下和Jacky & Randy 去打保齡球

好久沒打了以前就只打過一兩次當然是打得很爛

但是邊打邊聊又多了解了一些學校的資訊大家人也都很好

交到新朋友感覺很好

房子的事情還沒定下來

心也有點飄

下午 Barbara帶我去了post office買郵票

可惜找不到post cards 希望可以趕快找到

不過總算多完成了一些

最棒的消息是明天Paul大哥要帶我去買車了!

希望一切順利有了車再搞定房子才有定下來的感覺

今天是在Claremont生活的第二天

一大早五點就起床而且睡不著了時差多多少少還是有影響

但是這樣很好早睡早起的習慣說不定就從此刻開始呵

Barbara 和 Greg 也都很早起溜狗又運動的

我還是自己吃了早餐雖然有享用Barbara幫我煮的咖啡

住這裡確實比hotel溫馨多了

上線跟家人朋友聊聊天早上正是好時間

剛好我起床的時候台灣的爸媽正準備要睡而朋友們正紛紛上線

反正都是有時差這樣的時差反而是好安排的我喜歡

能這樣跟台灣聯繫一下感覺也很好有種充電的感覺

雖然我也沒放掉多少電

之後我八點多出門準備去AT&T 趕上他們九點的上班時間

騎著我的腳踏車一邊騎一邊聽歌

這裡真是騎腳踏車的好地方雖然今天的空氣有點冷天有點陰

稍微可惜了點但是一路上不太需要跟車去爭路空氣也好

又幾乎不太需要停下來把車帶來真是帶對了

到了AT&T 遇到一個態度很好的店員雖然付了大筆的押金

但為了用iPhone 也只能忍痛了反正一年後可以拿回來應該還好

回來後很幸運的把問題都解決了成功activate my iPhone

真的要感謝那個叫做George的店員幫了我很大忙

雖然他可能只是盡他本分或只想賺我錢我還是覺得很感謝

後來甚至他還幫我搞定了電話費的自動扣款跟讓我可以傳國際簡訊

喔今天的主要任務也就這樣達成了真高興

下午學長Allen來載我去看他的apartment

還有帶我去看另外一間附近的讓我租屋參考

但今天天氣不好下雨了 Allen說這很難得他連傘都沒有

結果下午回來後也不想騎車出去了

就在這裏等Barbara回來因為她昨天有問我要不要一起去一個meeting

雖然我猜我一定會覺得有點無聊但是還是想說去看看吧

反正沒事去看看不是比睡覺好多了嗎?

六點多我們出發到了以後才知道

原來在 Claremont 的 Community Center開會

內容是在討論 4th July 時 Claremont要舉辦的慶祝活動

結果我就這樣一起參與了一個討論人家社區在國慶日要辦的活動的會議

真是有趣...

但說真的好多聽不懂呀

這樣一個普通的小型會議我就聽得霧煞煞...

不過這就是我這麼早來的原因嘛

沒在怕的兩個月後我就都聽得懂了 !

晚餐又是男主人Greg下廚

我看天天都他煮ㄟ真是個家庭煮夫好厲害

昨天是烤雞今天是炸魚很好吃出乎我意料

用了神奇的香料吃得挺滿意的雖然美式讓我吃不多

但吃的時候感覺是不錯還是只是因為我太餓啦?

吃飽飯了再次進到房間面對自己

從台灣出發到現在應該超過48小時了?

想家? 不能說沒有但比起該做的事情那又算什麼呢?

今天要早睡明天要早起

看預報明天也會下雨希望不要下整天...

來到Claremont的第一個清晨

不出我所料起得非常早幾乎已經可以想像

今天下午會多痛苦的想睡了

一直自認有效率的我在昨天下午抵達Claremont後

馬上把最重要的兩件事情在晚餐前都搞定了

銀行開戶完成而腳踏車也已經組起來可以騎了

host family 女主人 Babara非常訝異我自己帶腳踏車還這麼快就開戶完

說我一點都不浪費時間是呀我怎麼可以浪費時間呢

一定要馬上安頓下來才可以不然我的心不會定的

現在住在一個溫新的小家庭裡面

昨天晚餐也是和他們一起吃

男主人Greg是個看起來很斯文的老先生

他們的女兒練拳擊...

總之

有地方落腳了今天要出去找住的地方辦手機

希望可以儘快搞定一切

在機場了

一個多小時候登機

終於自己一個人面對自己的心情了

剛剛在車上老爸問我 "心情怎樣"

我說 "都有"

他又問我 "跟你去面試時差很多齁開心嗎"

我說 "還可以"

怎麼說呢開心當然不會沒有

但我總感覺到更多的壓力

這可不是去玩的也不是去一兩個禮拜完成一些任務就好

跑這一趟不知道多久後回來

說不定很快又跑回台灣休息

也說不定半年後才能回來

總之很難說

重點是這不是一趟短程旅行了

說完全不擔心不緊張那都是騙人的

不過在機場出境大廳跟爸媽說再見的時候

真的是一點都沒有離別氣氛

我猜老媽還是會不捨的

只是獅子座嘛總是會逞強一下

不久前去的那趟日本坦白說真的讓我覺得該好好照顧父母親

爸爸媽媽都已經不是那個身體怎麼操都可以撐下去的年紀了

而我呢唯一能做的就是在美國好好得過

好好的學好好的生活好好的成長

出國前這兩個禮拜

也發生了很多事情

心情也有了些轉變

其實沒太多機會好好沉思

或許這趟飛機是個好機會

雖然我應該還算挺獨立的

但某方面來說我也很依賴

看Iron man時印象最深的

其實就是那個女秘書

如果有個人可以幫我打點一切雜事

連身份證號碼都不用我去記

我想我會跟男主角一樣無法離開這樣的人

但

也因為這樣我會愈來愈笨吧

變成只有我專注的那項事情強

這樣不行我得成為全才才可以

扯遠了...

總之

跟爸媽say good-bye

心中多少有點不捨

但對於這必然的旅程我是不會猶豫的

思念藏在心中

懂的人自然會懂就這樣吧

出國前最後一夜

說真的我一點都不平靜

從小就想要出去唸書期待努力都已經很久了

當然也不是隨時都一直那麼渴望著這天

畢竟都到這年紀了要去適應一個全新的環境語言文化

也不是很輕鬆的事情一直過得很安逸的我

多多少少還是會被惰性影響的

但此刻這些想法都不存在

出去唸書我不覺得難

英文不夠好我不擔心

環境不熟悉我不擔心

課業就算很重我也不擔心

但這幾天下來我卻發現我沒什麼食慾

心情也一直飄忽不定的

行李到今天才開始打包

但是很快就弄得差不多了行李箱比想像的小

東西也比想像的多但我不會多帶

一定按照計畫一個皮箱一台腳踏車一個電腦背包

說不出現在到底什麼感覺

說不捨不像

說期待不像

說擔憂不像

說興奮也不像

如果可以把這些感覺平方後相加除以四再開根號

或許會比較接近我現在的感覺

本來一直覺得不回台灣無所謂

到了這一刻我才發現有機會回來我一定會回來的

感謝很多人給我的祝福

為了在我出國前見一面

感謝志豪大老遠跑來陪我跟老弟打Dota

這樣三人組合好像已經一陣子沒打了

今晚大膽挑戰三insane 輸得一塌糊塗 >.<

幸好倒數第二場有贏不然出國前最後一次

完全沒贏的話也太丟臉了哈

想起大學時代幾乎是每週打好幾次

乃倫現在在馬祖沒能參與真是太可惜

啊...以後就沒啥機會再這樣打了就像當兵前湊齊了六人打的那次

也成為絕響了也好年紀大了不適合這樣了

魔獸Dota戰史對要出國的我來說到此已經暫告一段落~

遠渡重洋前的懷舊-6: 做兵

話說去年八月底退伍時整個開心到不行

脫離監獄般的生活當然是很雀躍的

一直想好好寫篇當兵時候的東西卻總在寫的時候沒靈感

剛入伍時我是完全沒想太多

自以為當兵嘛男生都要當的有什麼難度可言呢

確實要平安退伍是沒什麼難度可言但是要在裡面吃得開

或者要開開心心的當這個兵倒也不是那麼簡單...

新訓時我還一直趕家人走覺得又沒什麼不用擔心

墾親時才知道原來自由的世界對我多重要

從早到晚沒有半點自由的日子像機器一樣

去除你的思想消掉你的發言權關在一個小小的連上

販賣機投個飲料上個廁所都要人允許更別提

睡前看看書聊聊天都會被罵

憲校則是個好地方可以講手機了一樣都跟同梯的在一起

氣氛就像個學校感覺好很多自由度也變高了

這期間跟柏男熟了起來

同梯裡面最熟的就是後來同一個連的光前跟憲校同住的柏男了

我睡上舖柏男睡下舖雖然相處只有這一個多月

卻是聊了很多每天睡前聊聊一起拿餐盤我盛飯他打菜

一起吃飯一起上課我寫日記他寫信

我留守那次柏男主動打電話問我要不要幫我帶東西

我格外感動...

下了部隊

就真的是我最煎熬的時候了

怎麼說呢憲校過太爽一整個無法適應吧

突然學長學弟制出現了連上每個人都比我大

明明就在一個很爽的連上卻自己膽顫心驚

一下部隊接了業務學長卻退伍三個月了

什麼都搞不清楚被唸一下就覺得很擔心會黑掉

現在想想那時候真是自尊心太強了

當過兵都知道反正長官都亂罵後來就是養成

左耳進右耳出絲毫不在意的習慣

雖然對我們這種教育背景的人來說這很難完全做到

但多多少少還是有受影響

當然去了屏東聯勇後漸漸老了漸漸熟了

退伍前我也是挺囂張換了我認為不夠格的新連長

幾乎也沒在理他離營座談捅到爛掉

退伍當天營部通訊還跟我說他知道我討厭這連長

督導幫我寫了十幾條缺失 >.< 這樣算是有挺我嗎?

哈

在連上最好的朋友當然是那幾個

兵的話吳澤仁吳信樺都不錯

士官當然還是比較熟光前泰延賢文啟彰

其實現在這種一堆假然後在營時間忙到沒時間睡覺的作法

是挺變態也不容易交朋友

很慶幸當兵期間我還是有留下些什麼

這幾個朋友退伍後也還能夠有聯絡

甚至小賴連長段排在我通知我要出國時都還有給我祝福

當這個憲兵

也算是沒有白當啦

不過就像恰吉曾說過的

當兵的回憶用再多錢也買不到的

但給我再多錢我也不要再回去當兵了

哈!

交際能力

向來不是一個很會social的人

遇到合的怎樣聊都聊不完但遇到稍微不同生活圈

才發現自己的社交能力真是差到一個不行

我只會聊些未來的計畫最近的生活

真的不懂怎麼去讓場面很熱絡很開心

只會講心事只會講些很嚴簌地東西...

小時候是很挑朋友覺得多聊些沒興趣的幹嘛

但現在不是這樣了什麼我都有興趣不同生活圈我也很想了解

但是我就是沒那個能耐我的生活領域就是那麼小

儘管聽到人家聊得很開心我也很想參與也覺得大家講話很有趣

我還是插不上話我不會為什麼我不會?

什麼時候才有能耐遇到不管怎樣的人群

都可以輕鬆自在的打開話匣子找到大家共通的話題

什麼時候才有辦法在任何場合都能找到切入點?

是不是要研究更多車子更多運動更多電影娛樂更多食物更多產業更多文化

這是不是真的我想要的?

一直在尋找下一步的徵兆

我不是完全相信命運的人我當然認為人可以改變命運

但是我也相信一個一個階段人是有不同的目的的

學習不同的東西看見新的視野

回過頭來看一步一步不就是那麼的清楚嗎

不論是人生的哪個部份

事業感情家庭朋友都是有好多好多不同的課題需要學習

今天終於懂了

下個階段我不再擔心我會勇敢迎接

半年後我會再回來!

從來都不覺得溝通是個簡單的事情

很理論上來講雙方都有想法想傳達的跟不想傳達的

雙方都會透過不論是肢體文字語言傳達想傳達的隱藏不想傳達的或不隱藏

然後雙方都用自己的眼睛耳朵頭腦去接收各式各樣的溝通訊息

在經過自己的分析想接受的不想接收的懂的不懂的最後彙整出一個概念

這樣的過程是多麼複雜多麼難測

更不要提有絕大多數的人都不了解自己

表達出來的甚至根本不是自己真正的樣子

又表達出來的自己往往跟自己的期許有關連

而且還會影響到自己認定的自己

我一直希望自己是懂得溝通的

不論是

透過互相叫罵

透過彼此手心的溫度變化

透過眼角的餘光

透過簡訊一句話

甚至透過彼此對電影對歌的共鳴

感覺到你在想什麼你現在有什麼感覺

不論自己有沒有察覺

不論嘴巴上怎麼說

溝通

真是門藝術呀...

腳踏車打包,整理信件卡片

早上把我的愛車送去車行打包

我慢慢的騎到市政路上一路想著下次在台中市這樣騎車

會是多久以後呢?

這幾個月來常常自己出去騎腳踏車因為怕運動不夠

總是很刻意的去騎很久

週六日常常跟恰吉乃倫凱晏騎去高鐵吃早餐

我喜歡這樣的行程輕鬆寫意又吃到早餐又跟朋友一起運動

下次會是很久以後了吧...

下午終於整理我的信件跟卡片了

真是多到一個爆炸從小到大寫給我的人也是從小到大

有隔很久說以前喜歡過我的

有說自己變成大美女的

太多了沒法一個個看

但是要抱怨一下

恰吉每次寫給我都沒寫啥內容還畫一堆Q毛小洽破壞版面

嘉泰, 明儒, 怡穎, 劉立, 吳靜霞, 原來都給我寫過好多信

劉立寫最多感恩!

老朋友都會說認識這麼久一定要當一輩子的好友

國高中同學都寫些有的沒的讓我回想起阿魯八的日子

關心我的人原來這麼這麼多是我自己沒有好好珍惜

有很多都沒在聯絡了...儘管我覺得我陪朋友的時間永遠不夠...

老爸寫過信給我

只因為我為了感情太投入他擔心我浪費了我天賦

老爹...別擔心真的別擔心

看到最後才發現

我辜負了好多好多

有多少人誠懇的跟我說你是我最好最信任的朋友

結果我後來卻冷冷的沒再聯絡

太多了...

不禁想著上輩子我應該是個樂善好施的好人吧

才會這輩子這麼多人對我這麼好...

羨慕佩服

一直很都佩服做什麼都拼命努力的人...

從小不管在哪個階段就都只有一兩件事情可以讓我真的投入

坦白說認真投入過的事情屈指可數

小學辯論比賽時我印象中我是盡力了

國中從未盡力不管何時

高中童軍社讓我花最多心思我也認為我盡力了

大學一直到梅竹賽才讓我比較投入了一點

當兵就甭提了幾乎一刻也沒有投入過

靠GMAT跟托福坦白說也沒有多拼

GMAT我是用心準備了但只唸一個月英文這麼差還只唸這樣也算是懶吧

申請學校一段一段的有的我很努力有的還好

回想起來為何我這麼懶散呢?

朋友說我總是有種太過安逸的感覺

我想這就是主因吧為什麼要那麼拼命呢? 拼命了生活有過得比較開心嗎?

因為"人無遠慮必有近憂" 所以就要成天耗盡心神把來避免那個遠慮? 這難道不是一種近憂?

大三時連著上了很多課

中醫啦, 數理邏輯啦, 文化與歷史思維啦很多課

但不曉得為何那段時間不管聽什麼學什麼最後的結論都是一樣的

就是教導我要敞開心胸要open mind 要傾聽不同的聲音要多元要理解

連邏輯課最後的結論都是

"我們不知道的事情永遠比知道的多很多很多

就像無理數其實比有理數多很多很多但我們總以為事實是相反地"

人類的智慧是多麼的渺小卻又多麼珍貴

汲汲營營是為了什麼?

儘管找了一堆藉口

我仍然憧憬著有能讓我充滿熱血想要用盡一切力氣去追求的目標

(雖然目前為止大部分是有正妹才會讓我這樣...)

其實

我是很渴望努力的

當然知道拼命努力過的成果是最美好的

也不是沒有嚐過

梅竹賽閉幕式致詞完現場的氣氛我永遠都不會忘記

高中時代每次露營辦活動看著夥伴們的笑與淚我從不覺得更努力有什麼不好

再六天我就要離開台灣了

期許再次進到一個充滿挑戰激發我熱寫的環境

期許為了證明自己為了提昇自我能再拼命一次

這次該換別人佩服我了!

成熟如何定義?

總是看到很多時候

人覺得自己應該成熟應該穩重應該捨得應該放下應該看開

是

這樣是比較讓人敬重比較讓人佩服比較能讓人依靠

但失去的又是什麼

遇到了不想穩重的時候不想捨得的時候不願放下的時候無法看開的時候

那短暫的任性的愚蠢的一小段不成熟

難道不可愛不值得珍惜?

常常在電影中日劇裡看到一種情節

就是彼此都認為成熟應該怎樣怎樣認為理性上就是怎樣怎樣

然後錯過了

錯過了什麼? 都有可能總之就是錯過了

因為

成熟的人不該太浪漫而該理性

成熟的人不該不顧一切追求不可能的事物

成熟的人不該空想不切實際的夢

so what?

錯過以後靜靜的一個人在夜裡空望著酒杯

這樣有比較快樂嗎?

小時候很多人覺得我早熟覺得我小學就能跟大人聊天

聽大人們談是非說經濟聊新聞

高中時老師覺得我不成熟為了交女朋友被記大過

讓父母親蒙羞

大學時我自以為成熟不去瘋不去自high 不去參加我認為沒什麼內涵的社團

結果呢我大學沒多交幾個朋友也沒磨練到什麼好壞我也不知

成熟怎麼定義

覺得別人幼稚自己又懂多少

記得梅竹籌委會在被學生議會代表質詢挑毛病時

那些愚蠢的學生議員胡亂人身攻擊自以為是

還說 "立法委員質詢行政官員時不就是這樣?"

我只覺得可笑

"你們是想效法台灣的立委? 那種水平的人是你的人生目標, 學生議會的標竿?"

那隨你們~我真的沒話說

當同年齡的人紛紛想要成為"獨立自主的大人"

我總會想

看看大多數所謂的成熟穩重懂事高EQ的獨立自主的大人

之後

為何我沒有覺得那樣比較好?

我想

我還是太幼稚...

喜歡一個人卻不被相信是真的喜歡

跟

喜歡一個人而且被相信了以後拒絕

哪個比較痛苦?

這種無聊的問題奇怪的想法

是我被蜂蜜與四葉草給影響後會想到的

劇中說

"表達出來以後的單戀是輕鬆的因為沒了壓力

而且只要能待在對方身邊就會覺得是幸福的"

是這樣嗎某個角度來說是的

一直都認定胡思亂想這些有的沒的

是閒人在做的事情

沒啥要緊事的人才會整天風花雪月想這些白痴事

但一來我現在的確是個閒人

二來我很快就無法這樣清閒了

就想想吧何妨?

迫不及待想工作的心情

從退伍其實就想工作一方面自己英文不好申請學校花了不少心思

另一方面出國走走其單車環島等等計畫也讓我沒啥時間去工作

我當然知道

實力的累積是為了將來我當然知道現在就開始工作如果最後沒出去唸書

對我長期來說是很可惜的

家人不希望我太急迫的想要開始工作賺錢當然有很多很多的理由

但我還是想工作

想一到美國就找intern機會

凱晏說我時時刻刻都在找尋自己的存在感

駁斥別人說服別人想要證明自己存在

或許就是這樣吧才讓我我不喜歡老是聽到

"你兩年後一定會很不錯的"

"將來還得靠你呢"

"你還可以當學生多沒壓力多愜意"

之類的話...

我知道朋友親人的關心也知道我在累積什麼

但是獅子座的愛面子總讓無所事事的我心中很空洞...

我拿什麼證明我有實力? 拿申請了一堆學校只上一間的成果?

不管怎樣最後也就剩下這幾天

挑戰一個新環境總是個挑戰

我不會輸給工作中的人 MBA本來就不是個一般的唸書學位

給個機會我會證明我自己

唸MBA的目的

人對我來說一直是最重要的

以前拍照不管多美的景物如果沒有人在相片中總是不太會讓我多看一眼

雖然現在比較沒那麼強烈了

總還是覺得一張相片中要有人的氣息才能吸引我

就算畫面中沒有人的出現也是能捕捉到人的感覺的吧

說到management, marketing, strategy, ... 我總認為只有人最重要

Trump說過「經營的人甚至比location還要重要」

這我同意無視人之明充其量當個不錯的manager 離leader 還遠得很

但

說到知人善任說到人性說到人和

我又有多少本事?

德川家康靠長命, 隱忍, 盼到了他的天下

過程中對誰應該怎樣處理對誰可以怎樣反應

才是他度過一個個關卡的關鍵

織田信長如果更懂德光秀一點哪怕只有一點

恐怕也輪不到豐臣秀吉出來囂張

我很期待

到一個不同的國家

遇見不同的人聽見不同的思想產生不同的激盪

儘管以人為主體這樣產生的哲學歷史風氣禮貌商業各種文化

都是豐富而美好的

我衷心期待著這些衝擊帶給我的轉變讓我能對人有更深的了解

遠渡重洋前的懷舊-5: 大學時代

說起來我的大學真的過得是非常不璀璨

高中時期就覺得社團頂多玩到這樣了大學生只是更不健康更自high

跑了兩三個社團都不滿意後來也就都沒參加什麼活動

就這樣跟高中同學清交幫整天打電動鬼混到了大三

過得很愜意大家感情很好但是可惜沒交到什麼新朋友

到了大四因緣際會當了梅竹總召那還真是個苦差事

尤其對我這種三年來都不怎麼碰活動的人來說

就這樣認識了一些資工土木應化資材系的學弟妹還有兩位資深籌祕

經過了好幾個月的籌劃很慶幸乙酉梅竹賽順利落幕整個過程也沒有太大紕漏

很遺憾跟清大籌委會仍然沒能建立什麼好感情但是我盡力了

在籌委會認識的學弟妹們都很不錯雖然後來也沒太多聯絡

不過我還是有在注意他們blog啦, 各方面消息我覺得大家都很優秀

挺幸運可以有一群優秀的人幫忙不然我一定會把梅竹搞得亂七八糟

大五是挺開心的一年主要重心都在兩個打工上

微軟的promoter 跟冠捷數位(當時還叫做青蘋果)賣蘋果電腦的店員

在微軟還是看到不少認識的人也都很拼命的工作跟求上進

相比起來我只想就這樣混過去真的很不用心

而蘋果店當時的打工真的是一整個開心賣自己喜歡的東西研究自己愛的產品

然後跟客人聊自己的興趣認識很多客人跟Marco, Ivy, Nick, Max 常常玩呀鬧的

真的一邊賺錢卻一邊覺得過得很快樂

大學期間

總是陪在我身邊的好友們當然還是八七夥伴

而梅竹期間認識的籌委會夥伴

大家同甘共苦我很感謝

打工的同事能一起共事我很開心也覺得很幸福

這些緣份

我都會盡力去維持

希望將來都還可以笑著談好多這五年來發生的點點滴滴~

日劇- 蜂蜜與四葉草

現在正在看的日劇凱晏推薦它的卡通很久了但抓到了日劇才開始看

主角的徬徨與無力

每個人追求著無法達成的目標卻不停努力著

人總是健忘

如果不去想著記著就會漸漸遺忘的不想遺忘的人和回憶...

一旦忘了她就這樣永遠消失了嗎?

為了實現目標而努力時留下的痛苦的眼淚

跟找不到目標而痛苦徬徨時留下的眼淚

哪個比較痛苦...?

每一集都有好幾句話發人深省

那個青春的年代似乎已經離我愈來愈遠了我的輝煌時代是在高中吧?

面對目標只能有兩種選擇放棄或努力

可以一直不放棄的一種堅持是癡愚還是堅強?

有才能的人持續的創作是種義務

為了回報身邊的人的期待和夢想

背負著大家的夢想又怎能失敗?

因為認為不做自己愛做的事情不會成功反而找不到事情做

是不是不動手做就什麼都不會有

對於自己喜歡的想要的沒有伸出手就什麼也沒有

沒伸出手的是不是只是害怕得不到?

以前總再看日劇時覺得

主角總是傻傻的自己對自己說只要達成了什麼

就可以回到某人身邊然後拼了命的往那個目標邁進

等到好不容易達成了卻發現完全不是自己所想

看日劇時笑主角愚蠢時機過了就是過了

而自己呢?

這才發現原來人都是一樣的...

遠渡重洋前的懷舊-4: 高中童軍男孩

說起我的高中生活

一整個就跟童軍連結在一起

從高一就傻傻被拉進去童軍

那時候可新鮮了以前哪睡過帳篷呀

寒訓春露每個活動對我來說都是個新的體驗

到了高二選聯隊我們這屆超不好選的哲瑋欣文都是很不錯的人選(另外那廢柴就甭提了...)

現在想起來那時候真是熱血呀

很認真的希望可以搞出點什麼說愚蠢嘛...也不盡然吧

儘管現在回頭看會覺得很多事情未免太認真看待了

但是再重來一次的話說不定會更認真呢...哈

高二時期真是非常的忙碌而混亂

八七聯合起來寫信給我那次真的是讓人一輩子都忘不掉

感謝大家的原諒我還是留在那個位子友情也沒有變質

八七其實真的幹了不少大事

申請新的器材找回失傳的雙懸空參加大露營成為超級大社團

替學校做事情也都做得不錯所有活動都男女分開辦兩次相對大家感情也好

男團裡面現在有一半都還很常聯絡感情很好真是重感情(還是該說大家都沒長進?)

女團嘛本質上的關係就稍微生疏了一點但是八七出了對夫妻值得慶賀

還有三人組也多多少少都有聯絡辛班組也偶會出現

高中同學到出了社會還如此頻繁的聚會的恐怕也不多吧

傻人有傻勁

雖然明知道路是會愈走愈分歧

有凱晏這種重感情的人一直在聯絡我也是很感謝

大家始終維持著不錯的關係讓八七八七變成我生命中很重要的一部分

真的很感謝老天給了我這群朋友這群夥伴

從各個班級的夥伴之間不太熟絡

漸漸一起辦活動了解彼此

到畢業了哲瑋恰吉還會跑新竹

台中還常常待在凱晏家上山鬼混

甚至後來一起騎車環島

現在連凱晏的小學同學都跟盈成結緣了

真的是一整個溫馨

高中的社團八七比我當兵遇到的部隊都還要有紀律

這群夥伴儘管人生的路都有不同彼此珍惜的情感卻是顯而易見毋庸置疑的

遠渡重洋前的懷舊-3 : 國中時代的壞男孩

這次要來懷念國中的我

一整個就是個笨蛋印象中國一時整天跟李柟晏林聖鈞聊電動啦漫畫啦之類的東西

林聖鈞之後是沒啥聯絡了

但和柟晏之後還能夠一起出國玩一直有聯絡甚至在紐約相見也是很不容易

怎麼也想不到當時對英文國文都很沒興趣的他現在英文好到一個爆炸

真羨慕呀~~~

國二之後

跟王志中愈來愈好很崇拜他啊當時覺得字又寫得帥氣又人緣好

很想跟他好好學習當時他成績幾乎是班上最好的那群之一卻沒有直升而去了一中

反而漸漸沒有聯絡了真的很可惜

高中時還有見面幾次這位老大哥國中看起來就像三十幾歲不知道現在怎麼樣呢...?

國中時期

排隊等校車時都在偷看女生偷偷寫情書緊張的要命遞出一封不知所云的信

啊~真懷念呀

直升後有陣子跟小江郭丁魁也很好

小江現在不知道在哪郭丁魁還有聯絡幸好世界不大

直升後那段時間

學校把我們分成三各班特別管理

那陣子真的是只能用過太爽來形容

又從男生班變到班上有女生整個心情就是情竇初開心情雀躍

其他的也記不清楚了只知道在那個夏日的氣息處處蟬叫的校園裡

一個叛逆老跟爸媽吵架的壞男孩

就這樣懵懂的進到了高中時代...

我是個重感情的人很多時候總是無法放下

不論是家人朋友情人

看以前的照片細細的回味共有的過去是我很常做的事情

其實或許這樣很不好人是很難一心多用的一直看著過去

目光也就無法放在未來

得失之間是很難衡量的

昨天和小裘老師聊天他說了和Steve Jobs一樣的話

"很多事情你往後看未來是看不清楚

但是回頭看你的足跡怎麼連結起來卻是很清楚"

總是回頭看的我因為一點一滴的過去累積出現在的我

對於過往帶有的執著總是很強烈

友情啦回憶啦戀愛啦如果可以一直繼續下去多好

總是這樣傻傻的想著

因為不想搖尾乞憐而被逼走或許是我通向未來唯一的路?

自尊心強愛面子的個性雖然讓我總是處在緊繃的狀態

卻讓我在不肯放手時一怒轉身這...或許也救了我吧!

遠渡重洋前的懷舊系列第二集

想談談小六的時候參加辯論比賽的回憶

那時候莫名其妙就加入了

一路打到台中市冠軍跟五縣市第二名

我都還記得五縣市沒拿到冠軍我覺得跟我的失誤有很大的關係...

坦白說當時的朋友唯一有在聯絡的只有劉立田了

當時完最兇的其實還有另外兩男一女

可是劉立是我班上的也比較有聯絡

說起當時的辯論社

那可是非常囂張

小六就開始一直在蹺課

假借練習之名偷吃學校會議室旁邊的冰箱裡面的冰

躲在會議室玩

但我們也不是沒成績的呀

打到台中市冠軍的時候真的很開心

以為就會這樣一路贏上去了

結果我這蠢蛋在五縣市的冠軍賽竟然連題目都說太快講到差點講錯

雖然很快把心情穩住後面也沒再出錯

但我永遠都記得當時沒拿冠軍我自責的感覺...

那可是大家練習了一年呀

當時的夥伴現在哪裡去了呢那個女生張文怡聽說超強在美國拿MIT的學位工作也很順利

其他兩個我都沒消息了同學會也沒遇到

至於劉立

那也是一直有保持聯絡的重要小學同學之一

後來反而都演變成我跟嘉泰劉立跟怡穎的四人聚會了

現在在法國打拼的劉立我一直很欣賞她的分析能力跟柔軟的身段及表達

當時的辯論比賽

為我打下了很深厚的基礎當然指導老師張上民老師也是功不可沒

希望老師當時的團隊夥伴都能夠事事順利世界這麼小一定有機會再遇到的

到時候再來嘲笑當年失誤的我吧!

小弟我 5/21 就要搭上飛機前往 Claremont, LA, CA 去追求夢想了

在那之前我一直很希望可以好好回想過去的24年我到底經歷了什麼

又交過了哪些朋友受過多少朋友的幫忙而且還一直維持友情至今

這個想法已經很久了但一直沒有下筆是因為這是個龐大的工程而且非常容易有遺漏

但再不寫就來不及了所以還是決定趁著很有靈感的時候先來個第一篇

遠渡重洋前的懷舊-1 : 小二開始的緣份

故事從我小二說起

那時候的我還是個機車死小孩

懷著獅子座慣有的囂張和驕傲以及相當不怎麼樣的體育細胞

在小學生當中是個極為不起眼的矮小子

就在此時因為找了老師學國文跟作文

開始和怡穎梓甯明儒幾個家庭混熟

常常一起爬山或一起出去玩真是一段天真無邪的日子

後來嘉泰也加入了我們梓甯卻漸漸沒消息了

這是我最早開始的第一段友情

雖然和梓甯漸漸沒了聯絡是個最大的遺憾但她現在也結婚了希望他幸福囉

怡穎後來也去了英國唸書好幾年的時間都只有她回國時見個面

明儒則是去了大陸唸書闊別六年多後幾個月前又因為我閒閒沒事幹跑到北京去

而見到了面真的是很高興可以去一趟...

嘉泰算是聯繫最頻繁的了但是現在也在費城唸書幸好退伍後也有去了一趟費城

不然下次見面也不知道是何時了

小學時候的朋友

不但沒有利害關係更是有著純真的回憶

從小二到現在已經超過15年了

雖然這幾個朋友並沒有真的很常聯繫

但偶而的談天總是可以讓人覺得很溫馨

希望這緣份可以長長久久

梓甯可以婚後幸福美滿

怡穎工作感情可以順利

明儒學業成功不會孤單

嘉泰更有自信更有成就

小二開始的緣份我會繼續珍惜!

Of course, this results from the founder of my school, Peter F. Drucker, who is the most important management guru in 20th century.

A warm regard from my school makes me feel it's a right place to go.

MBA果然不好申請

剛剛聽說了一個GMAT 740, TOEFL 270, GPA 3.7 的申請前50大MBA都沒上

不過上了西北的MS 的一個例子

只能說條件超好也不見得會上工作經驗工作經驗就是錄取MBA最重要的衡量指標

但是...累積到那個程度可以上名校我也老了啊!

所以我相信我的決定是對的我並不想到了30歲才又回到校園

趁著年輕現在就出去看看就去好好學習

資歷那一套多少有差但基本上我是不相信的

自信說真的是不太有現在的我連跟同學溝通都還會有問題吧

但是我想我是有潛力的經驗不夠又怎樣語言不夠強又怎樣

好好學習很快就會追上的

MBA不好申請但我還是到了間適合我的溫暖的有著好環境好老師的學校

五月二十一日的飛機到時候朝夢想出發!

看完 "求婚進行曲SP"

剛剛看完了日劇求婚進行曲的SP

基本上這部日劇是非常豪洨的劇情

但是呢卻有打到不少點

"好想回到過去", "如果可以重來一次" 之類的想法很多人都有過吧

在有點好玩的劇情對話中穿插了幾幕發人深省的感人場景

想起很多事情

知道感嘆胡思亂想都是沒用的

當然也不會沈迷其中

但當心情不自禁的跟著劇中人物起伏

也多多少少紓解了些什麼吧...
